After several days in a row of declines, the broadcast networks got a bit of relief on Wednesday night where most every show was close to last week's results. The exception was FOX which saw more declines. At 8pm, Rosewood was down another eight tenths in viewers and four tenths in the demo. It has dropped a full demo point since its debut and is sinking fast after a promising start. It was another drop for Empire as well. It's still TV's top scripted show, but it was down another nine tenths in viewers and four tenths in the demo. This has to be getting a little alarming for FOX as they Empire heat is definitely fading. Of course it has a long way to go before it's not a huge hit, but the phenomenon seems to be over. On CBS, Survivor was even in viewers and up two tenths in the demo, the biggest rise of the night. Criminal Minds was dead even with last week. I guess the positive perspective is it didn't drop again. It also helped stabilize Code Black as the new medical drama was up two tenths in viewers and even in the demo.

Over on ABC, The Middle was down two tenths in viewers and even in the demo. It is one of the very few shows that is up year to year, very impressive for this consistently underrated sitcom. At 8:30pm, The Goldbergs was down four tenths in viewers and a tenth in the demo. It couldn't build on The Middle for the first time in awhile. At 9pm, Modern Family was down a tenth in viewers and even in the demo. Black-ish was down two tenths in viewers and a tenth in the demo. Nashville ended the night up a tenth in viewers and the demo from last week's series low. Finally on NBC, The Mysteries of Laura was down two tenths in viewers and a tenth in the demo. It got an order for more scripts a couple days ago but this performance does not help its case as it didn't get this low until January last year. At 9pm, Law & Order: SVU was down eight tenths in viewers and a tenth in the demo. Chicago PD closed things out up a tenth in viewers and even in the demo. This has settled into being quite a compatible companion to SVU.

WINNER OF THE NIGHT: Survivor (CBS)
LOSER OF THE NIGHT: Rosewood (FOX)
