On Tuesday night, NBC had the season premiere of the strongest summer series, America's Got Talent. With a 2.6 demo, it was below last year's premiere number but well above anything else we've seen (and probably will see) this summer. At 10pm, NBC got very solid numbers from the series premiere of I Can Do That! which proved to be compatible with Talent and got a 1.8 demo which is very positive for 10pm in the summer. Over on ABC, 500 Questions was on par with what it's been doing so far but the season premiere of Extreme Weight Loss was a huge disappointment with a mere 2.9 million viewers and a 0.9 demo. It's been an OK summer player before but that might not be the case this summer. Finally on FOX, Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader? flopped in its first return to primetime in six years. It was ignored with a 0.8 demo. Looks like people were not clamoring for this to return (shocking, I know). At 9pm, Hell's Kitchen was down two tenths in viewers and the demo, tying series lows.
