The closely contested and heavily covered NCAA Men's Basketball Championship between Duke and Wisconsin dominated the ratings Monday night with 28.3 million viewers and a 9.1 demo. It was up huge from last year's 7.2 demo and posted its best demo in over a decade and best viewership in nearly 20 years. This has become such a major sports event. The female-skewing Dancing with the Stars held up quite well as it was even in viewers and down just a tenth in the demo. The Voice took a bit more of a hit as it was down nine tenths in viewers and three tenths in the demo. However, The Night Shift was surprisingly up half a million viewers and two tenths in the demo. A 1.4 demo is not all that bad for an NBC scripted show right now, sad as that may be. Finally on FOX, the more male-skewing The Following was down three tenths in viewers and two tenths in the demo for a series low. It'll get a new Gotham as a lead-in next week but the ship may have sailed here.

WINNER OF THE NIGHT: Dancing with the Stars (ABC)
LOSER OF THE NIGHT: The Following (FOX)
