Check back later for a review of Marvel's Agent Carter and, if I have time, Empire!
Wednesday night has the third series premiere in four nights with FOX's hip hop drama Empire. It follows the season premiere of American Idol and that show is a big question mark after its major drops last season. I think it'll have a very soft premiere, probably the worst ever, but the year to year trends will get better as the season goes on. As for Empire, it'll lose a fair amount of Idol's audience, so the smaller Idol is, the worse chance that it has. ABC has their regular comedy lineup, but the 8pm hour could be affected by Idol. NBC has its usual drama lineup and could benefit from no crime dramas in the 9pm and 10pm hours on CBS. CBS has the People's Choice Awards, hosted by Anna Faris and Allison Janney. It usually does OK but it's not usually an improvement on their regular Wednesday lineup by any significant margins.
