Tuesday night had the season premieres of two underachieving FOX comedies and the results weren't promising. First up, Utopia was down a tenth in viewers but actually up a tenth in the demo from last week. Then at 9pm was the fourth season premiere of New Girl. While it's 1.7 demo was up significantly from the 1.2 for the season finale, it was down over a demo point from last year's 2.9 premiere. If it slides the same way this season, it'll barely be on the map by the end of the season. At 9:30pm, the season premiere of The Mindy Project was on par with last year's season finale but well below last year's 1.9 premiere. NBC had the performance finale of America's Got Talent and it was up 1.7 million viewers and six tenths in the demo for its best performance since July 1. Over on ABC, a special results edition of Dancing with the Stars was solid with a 2.2 demo. That's not bad considering it's Monday show was only a 2.4. Finally on CBS, Big Brother was up a tenth in viewers and even in the demo from last week.
