The first night of the summer season was not bad for the victor of the regular season, NBC. After Hollywood Game Night, which was up two tenths in viewers and even in the demo, they brought back Last Comic Standing, which hadn't been since on NBC since Summer 2010. But the show returned pretty strongly as it was basically on par with what it was getting four years ago, when overall ratings were higher. Things did not go as well for FOX's premiere but first, Hell's Kitchen was down six tenths in viewers and a tenth in the demo. The series premiere of new scripted drama Gang Related got absolutely no interest. Though it didn't premiere as bad as the last two Tuesday unscripted shows, it was utterly rejected by the Hell's Kitchen audience. So much for FOX's year-round programming idea. On ABC, Black Box didn't have a new lead-in and it fell half a million viewers and three tenths in the demo while Bad Teacher on CBS was down 1.2 million viewers and three tenths in the demo.
