FOX has made the early call to renew The Simpsons for an unbelievable 26th season. The iconic animated show has been airing on FOX since the 1980s and is an institution. Even though it is past its prime, it makes tons of money through syndication, merchandise, etc. FOX has had some difficult negotiations before with the show's renewal but it appears things went smoothly this time. As with all animated shows, they need more heads up because of a longer production schedule. It will be a very weird thing when The Simpsons is no longer a part of FOX's lineup, but that won't be next season.

The Simpsons joins Bob's Burgers, Glee, and Sleepy Hollow as early renewals for next season. No doubt Family Guy is coming soon.
