Wednesday night was good to ABC as every series had a solid outing. At 8pm, The Middle was up three tenths in viewers and two tenths in the demo. Suburgatory had a solid return to 8:30pm where it was up half a million viewers and down a tenth in the demo from last week's 9:30pm episode. It also outperformed the recent numbers of The Neighbors in the slot. The move to 9:30pm seemed smart at the time but it looks like this show should have stayed where it was last season. At 9pm, Modern Family rebounded big from last week as it was up 1.8 million viewers and a full demo point. This is a huge reversal from last week's low and a sigh of relief for ABC. At 9:30pm, the series premiere of How to Live with Your Parents (for the Rest of Your Life) had a really solid showing. It tied the best numbers Suburgatory got in this slot all season (and it only got a 2.9 demo once). This is a real good start for the family comedy so it'll be interesting to see how it holds up in the next couple weeks. Finally at 10pm, Nashville was up three tenths in viewers and two tenths in the demo. It managed to beat Chicago Fire in the demo for the first time in months.

On CBS, Survivor started things off down a tenth in viewers and even in the demo. After a disappointing start for this edition, it has been very consistent. At 9pm, Criminal Minds was down eight tenths in viewers and two tenths in the demo from its last airing while CSI was down six tenths in viewers and two tenths in the demo. On NBC, Law & Order: SVU was down three tenths in viewers and a tenth in the demo while Chicago Fire was down half a million viewers and a tenth in the demo, finishing third in the hour. The momentum has slowed for this show in recent weeks. Finally on FOX, American Idol was down another half a tenth in viewers and a tenth in the demo. It was manhandled by Modern Family and wasn't that far ahead of Criminal Minds and, yes, How to Live with Your Parents.
