On Wednesday night, NBC was all new starting with the season finales of Whitney and Are You There, Chelsea? Whitney was down a tenth in viewers and even in the demo. Though the numbers are low, it would not shock me one bit to see this show renewed and put with other multicam comedies. Chelsea was down four tenths in viewers and two tenths in the demo and that will almost certainly be its series finale. At 9pm, week two of the double pumping of Bent was just slightly below week one but pathetically low. It would probably be yanked if it didn't have only two more episodes this week. At 10pm, Rock Center was up three tenths in viewers and a tenth in the demo.

On FOX, American Idol was up seven tenths in viewers and two tenths in the demo against limited competition. Only Survivor was new on CBS. It was down half a million viewers but up a tenth in the demo. Over on ABC, only Happy Endings was new and it was even in viewers and up a tenth in the demo. Not a terrible performance since it was surrounded by repeats but this show is never going to be a huge mass appeal hit. ABC should renew it but put it elsewhere. Another family comedy would be smart to try in this slot.
