PILOT REVIEW: In the Flow with Affion Crockett

IN THE FLOW WITH AFFION CROCKETT

Starring: Affion Crockett

FOX's new sketch comedy from Jamie Foxx In the Flow with Affion Crockett is a complete mess. When shows get benched from a June launch date to an August launch date, it's not usually a good sign. With this show, it's easy to see why it couldn't even make the first summer cut. Basically every skit felt like a bad week on Saturday Night Live. From the beginning, it's clear that Affion Crockett was trying too hard and it went downhill from there.

The Jay-Z impression was weak and bad, the Tiger Woods skit was juvenile and bad, the "Wake Up Call" sketch was bordering on the offensive and bad, and the Gospel singer skit was mind numbingly unfunny and bad. To make matters worse, the "audience" was hooting and hollering at very unfunny punchlines while Affion Crockett continued to annoy in the studio scenes in-between the sketches. Summer TV isn't supposed to be very good but this is one of the worst.
