It was a quiet Friday as usual in the summer. ABC's 20/20 was down seven tenths in viewers and two tenths in the demo from last week. CBS's Flashpoint was down three tenths in viewers and even in the demo and NBC's Dateline NBC was down nine tenths in viewers and three tenths in the demo. Finally, the series finale of Friday Night Lights was up two tenths in viewers and a tenth in the demo. Major props to NBC for helping this series have a five season run despite its very low ratings because it is of the highest quality. It was critically adored and had a very loyal but small fan base. It's a shame it never found a mass audience but an upside to declining viewership and the rise of cable is that a show like this can have a satisfying run.
